Corporate Scheduler/Dispatcher

Crew schedulers and dispatchers in corporate and charter flight departments contribute to efficient and safe operations. FlightSafety International offers specialized training in a five-day course that focuses on the unique needs corporate schedulers and dispatchers face daily. Our practical, "real-world" approach results in usable knowledge and clear understanding of the subjects below. Most of the course subject matter isn't typically covered during on-the-job training, providing an excellent supplement to company training.

Courses are conducted at our St. Louis Learning Center and certain other selected Learning Centers. Please contact us for specific dates and locations. Training may also be conducted at your location by special arrangement.

The following subject courses are included with orientation to how each affects daily flight operations from a scheduler/dispatcher's perspective. Many common acronyms and abbreviations are covered throughout the subject areas. Opportunities for interactive learning in a comfortable environment results in valuable, relevant knowledge and practices that can improve any flight department's professionalism, efficiency, and safety.

Subject Areas:
  • Aviation Safety & Security Considerations
  • Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Meteorology
  • Principles of Navigation
  • Aircraft Aerodynamics
  • Aircraft Performance and Weight & Balance
  • Basic Flight Planning (Distance, Time, Fuel Requirements)
  • Crew Resource Management / Human Factors

Training also includes an opportunity for a "ride along" observation in a state-of-the-art, full motion flight simulator to better understand operations and performance limitations typical of modern aircraft.

The NBAA SPDP Program

The National Business Aviation Association has introduced the Schedulers Professional Development Program, or SPDP, which recognizes participation in NBAA-approved courses of training, and issues credits based on pre-designated learning objectives. Completion of the Corporate Scheduler/Dispatcher Course satisfies the requirements for five SPDP objective credits in just five days. FlightSafety International will submit all paper work to NBAA for earned credits.
